Launching this publication means a lot to me because The Old Ghosts brings together two of the things in my life I am most passionate about: storytelling and golf. We wanted to expand the aperture around the game and set out to create something different from most of what’s out there. The Old Ghosts will focus as much on craft, style, travel, gear, and epicurean undertakings as it will on golf. We care about the traditions of the past and the small but important details of life. We also appreciate how good design enriches our lives and experiences. The beauty of golf is that it allows us to see the world from a different perspective. The game is the conduit for friendship, exploration, and personal growth. We aim to highlight these things and bring people together to celebrate more than the top 100. (though we love a good golf course, don’t get us wrong.)
As a member of The Fliers Club over the past few years, I’ve seen firsthand how an obsession with details can elevate an experience. I’ve been so impressed with the spirit of everyone associated with The Fliers Club that when this came up, I knew it could perfectly express our shared views of golf and the many wonderful things it intersects with.
It’s the mission of The Old Ghosts to amplify the good around the game. Finally, we want this publication to be your companion as we collectively walk the considered path. We’re glad to have you aboard. Welcome to the game.
